Work as collaborators not competitors, Government urges SMEs

GOVERNMENT has underscored the importance of collaboration among micro-businesses in the country.

Speaking on behalf of President Hakainde Hichilema at the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise Development (MSEM) and Co-operative’s inaugural national Indaba, Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises Elias Mubanga said collaboration among businesses was fundamental to progress.

Mubanga urged enterprises to shift their mindset from competition to collaboration, highlighting that sustainable development hinges on collective efforts.

He reiterated Government’s commitment to partnering with micro-businesses to secure a more sustainable economy for future generations.

Highlighting the benefits of collaboration, the minister stressed that it fosters a shared mission, achieves common goals, and promotes inclusivity within the business community.

“Embrace collaboration as a driving force for SMEs and cooperatives,” urged Mubanga.

“It is through working together at all levels which will let us achieve great things in our country and move forward.”

Furthermore, Mubanga implored both public and private businesses to engage in collaborative efforts with international counterparts to overcome trade barriers and enhance economic growth.
