THE Movement Magazine has unveiled its 20th Edition dubbed “HerMovement” aimed at paying homage to women in the boardroom, the market place and everyday life.

Speaking at the launch, The Movement Magazine chief executive officer Namwezi Namwinga said “HerMovement” aligns with the organisation’s core mission of telling real, authentic and relevant Zambian stories.

“It’s a testament to the extraordinary contributions of women across our nation, and it underscores the importance of amplifying their voice,” stated Namwinga.

Reflecting on the magazine’s journey, the CEO reflected on how the magazine has traversed landscapes from featuring iconic figures like the First Republican President Kenneth Kaunda on the covers and embracing a narrative that has always aspired for a dream broader than reality.

Namwinga added this edition holds special significance as it has been unveiled in a month dedicated to honoring women.

Namwinga thanked the sponsors, distributors and stakeholders invested in the magazine in various capacities.

Speaking at the same event, Nkana member of parliament Binwel Mpundu commended the women behind the magazine for the initiative stating that there can never be a perfect way to celebrate women.

He said the stories that are being told in this magazine will go over memory lane to inspire young people into following their dreams.

“The women who have made it either to the boardroom or in governance circles have done miracles. Which is why you have a reason as women to celebrate yourselves,” stated Mpundu.

Furthermore, he implored women to continue supporting each other if they are to succeed in every sphere of life.

“Work around supporting each other. The reason why women have not succeeded so much as to the expected level is that they don’t have support systems,” he revealed.

Meanwhile, First National Bank (FNB) chief executive officer Chola Kapumpe, who is on the cover of the new edition, emphasized that the movement was not just about her but the countless dreams that are yet to be realised.

Kapumbe said the milestone was about using the platform to share the lives and issues that matter and advocate for those who need a voice and inspire others to pursue their passion relentlessly.

“As I grace the cover of this magazine, I do so with a sense of responsibility and gratitude. Gratitude with the opportunities that have come my way and the people who have supported me and responsibility to use this platform to uplift others and lay a positive impact in the world,” stated Kapumbe.

Also in attendance was the Kopala Queen, music artiste, Xaven among other notable figures.
