2 Lusaka girls die under boyfriends’ noses

A Man of Lusaka’s Kailikiliki Compound has taken up the feet of Muzala Samukonga to flee after his girlfriend died in his house.

And a 29 year old woman has died in her boyfriend’s vehicle while on a drinking spree in Kabwata.

Police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale revealed that 33 year old Moffat Zulu, hailing from Kailikiliki was no where to be seen after
his girlfriend Florence Mulemasaka aged 30 was found unconscious inside the room by one of the neighbours.

Mwale said the incident happened yesterday around 12:30 hours.

He said police officers immediately rushed to the scene after they were alerted and found the victim laying unresponsive on the bed facing upwards while the suspect had run away.

Mwale stated that officers discovered blood stains on the mattress, bedsheets and a curtain.

“Investigations revealed that the suspect has been staying with the girlfriend from March 7, 2024 and on March 10, 2024 around 12:30 hours. He told his 64-year-old father that the girlfriend was unwell and that he needed money to take her to the hospital,” Mwale said.

“The father approached one of the Neighbours for help and a taxi was called. While waiting for the taxi, the said neighbour went to check on the patient only to discovered that she was unconscious.”

He noted that police officers rushed the victim to the hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The body was deposited in the University Teaching Hospital mortuary awaiting formal identification and postmortem while police have started searching for Zulu.

Meanwhile, a 29-year-old woman only identified as Edina Lungu died while seated inside her boyfriend’s car.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening in Lusaka’s Kabwata area.

Mwale disclosed that preliminary investigations indicated that the deceased was drinking beer with her boyfriend aged 36 of Libala South area in Lusaka and around 21:50 hours.

The deceased allegedly collapsed while seated inside the car and the boyfriend immediately rushed her to Kabwata Clinic where she was pronounced dead.

“The body is in UTH mortuary awaiting postmortem,” Mwale disclosed.

“Police have opened an inquiry file into the matter.”
