A SEVEN year old girl of Chililabombwe district on the Copperbelt has been defiled by her 35 year old biological father.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer, Peacewell Mweemba said the incident occurred between Saturday at 19:00 hours and Yesterday at 07:00 hours.
The matter was reported by the girl’s mother, Ruth Mofya aged 29 of B-37 PPZ compound in Chililabombwe.
Mweemba disclosed that the perpetrator was identified as Nathan Mwila.
He narrated that Mwila and Mofya used to be a couple who divorced a year ago and had two children together.
He said the children stay with the mother and the father requested to see the children.
“She sent the two girls a 13 years and 7 years old to go and visit the father with instructions that they should return back home before it was late. Around 19:00 hours the 13 years old returned back alone stating that her 7 years old sisters had remained with the daddy and she would come back the following morning,” he revealed.
Mweemba noted that the next day the mother was informed that the daughter wasn’t feeling well and was taken to Kakoso Hospital.
He explained that upon reaching the hospital she found that her daughter was bleeding from her vagina and medical personnel revealed that she had been defiled.
The case was taken to the police where the victim was interviewed, revealing that she was defiled by her father.
“Docket opened and the suspect has since been apprehended thus:” he stated.
