WHILE police officers are celebrating their day, their fellow cop in Ndola will not experiece the exhilarating celebration mood today as he lost his life following a fatal road accident.
Chisenga Simusamba, aged 43 fell off his motorbike and landed in the path of a Volvo truck traveling southbound leading to his death on Friday.
The incident occurred around 13:00 hours at the Kwacha-Makanta junction in Kansenshi.
“The truck, ran over Mr. Simusamba with its rear tires,”Copperbelt Province commanding officer, Peacewell Mweemba stated.
The motorbike was under registration number BCD 1294zm and the Volvo truck with registration number BCD 1297zm.
The truck driver, James Banda, 42, of Chifubu, Ndola, was unharmed in the accident.
Simusamba, however, sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at Ndola Teaching Hospital.
The body of the deceased officer was taken to Ndola Teaching Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
