THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested two individuals, a senior accountant in the police force and a businessman, on suspicion of concealing property believed to be obtained through illegal means.

According to Timothy Moono, the Acc head of corporate communications, Kasemuka Chiteta, a 48-year-old accountant stationed at Police Headquarters, faces a single charge of “possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime.”

This charge stems from allegations that Chiteta concealed a Toyota Landcruiser (registration BAD4360) that is legally registered under the name of businessman Chimuka Chibawe.

The alleged concealment reportedly occurred between April 7, 2023, and February 12, 2024, within Lusaka District.

Chibawe, residing on plot No. 136 C Kalomo road Chilenje, also faces a similar charge under the same legal provision.

He is accused of concealing ownership of the same Toyota Landcruiser, despite it being registered in his name, while the true owner is believed to be Chiteta.

Both individuals have been released on bond and are expected to appear in court soon.
