A YOUNG girl, whose identity is yet to be established between the ages of seven and 10 years old, is battling for her life in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka.
Diamond TV reports that the unidentified girl was found with deep cuts, suggesting a brutal attack, and rushed to the hospital by a good Samaritan on Sunday, February 25.
UTH Public Relations Officer for the Adult Unit, Nzeba Chanda, told Diamond TV that the girl’s condition remains critical, with her consciousness still low.
Due to her unknown identity, the hospital is appealing to the public for help in locating her family.
Anyone with information about the girl or her relatives is urged to contact the hospital staff for identification purposes.
Police have are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack, and no details have been released yet.
