POLICE in Mkushi have arrested a ruthless 35-year-old man who was captured in a now viral video executing l*fe-threatening wrestling moves that included the painful tombstone and a chocking headlock on his defenceless  s8n aged 12.

It took the intervention of the boy’s 37-year old stepmother to intervene and stop the assault of the child after which she reported her husband to the police.

In the video, the man is seen lifting the crying child and slamming him on a wooden chair and the turning him upside and down and locking his tiny neck between his legs.

As he is being brutalised, the child wails loudly in pain and cries and pleads that he be taken back to his loving mother although at some point he fails to speak as his father attempts to chock him.

Details leading to the assault are that the man returned from a Chibuku drinking spree around 15:00 hours on Sunday and asked his son to wash his bicycle.

But before the child could even start working, like a man possessed, the father began to offload threats and verbal abuse on the boy.

Before long, the man grabbed the child took him through a savage b*ating as if he were k*lling a poisonous snake.

From the ordeal, the boy was left with severe headache and chest pains that also extended to every part of his body. 

After his stepmother reported the matter to police, the boy was issued with medical form to allow him get treatment.

Police Spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga confirmed the incident stating that the police service is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all members of the community, especially vulnerable individuals such as children.

“ Acts of violence, particularly within family units, will not be tolerated, and perpetrators will be held accountable for their actions,” said Hamoonga.
