TEN interns and trainees will have the privilege of going to America for an Education Exchange Programme which is aimed at enhancing their skills.

The trip was facilitated through the collaborative effort of the US embassy and Government through the ministry of tourism.

Tourism minister Rodney Sikumba highlighted that six of these participants are students and graduates from Zambia Institute for Tourism and Hospitality Studies (ZITHS), with their fees covered by the Ministry.

Sikumba expressed excitement about the students gaining exposure in the US market.

He emphasised Government’s commitment to human development, evident in the inclusion of Travel and Tourism in the new Zambia Education Curriculum Framework (2024-2034).

The initiative aims to bridge knowledge gaps in the tourism sector.
