TO honour the memory of Hot FM’s founding CEO Zach Chavula, the radio station will be training the next generation of radio personalities.
Hot FM officially introduced the Zach Chavula Memorial Radio Academy coinciding with the third memorial anniversary of Zach.
This development marks a pivotal step towards nurturing top-tier radio talents in Zambia.
The Academy, named in honor of the esteemed radio legend, aims to train 10 promising individuals per cohort, molding them into world-class radio presenters.
Executives at Hot Media House, the parent company, envision the Academy as a strategic move to bolster the radio industry in Zambia.
Oscar Chavula, Executive Chairman of Hot Media House, revealed the launch during the Red Hot Breakfast Show, stating, “Zach Chavula was a natural teacher, and we aim to preserve his legacy by imparting his passion for radio to the next generation.”
He emphasized that outstanding graduates from the Academy will be offered an opportunity to join Hot Media House, one of the leading broadcasting houses in Zambia.
Applications for the inaugural cohort will be accepted starting January 8, 2024, with the selected candidates set to undergo intensive training from March 2 to May 4.
Chavula expressed confidence in assembling a seasoned team of radio trainers to ensure the students are radio-ready upon graduation.
“The launch of the Academy is a testament to Hot FM’s commitment to contributing to the growth of the radio broadcasting industry,” stated Mr. Chavula.
The move underscores the station’s dedication to fostering talent and carrying forward Zach Chavula’s legacy as a mentor and influential figure in the field.
