The suspension comes in the wake of investigations into the tender for the supply and delivery of building materials for the construction of a 1000-seater capacity examination hall at Mulungushi University.
ZPPA initiated the probe in October 2023 following a complaint from a bidder.
It was uncovered that both Build at Home Investments Limited and Roofconnect Contractors and General Suppliers Zambia Limited had submitted false National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) compliance certificates during the tender process.
And according to the Public Procurement Act No.8 of 2020, section 96(b), the submission of false information in a bid or any other document related to a procurement process is strictly prohibited.
In light of this, ZPPA suspended the two companies for a duration of one year, effective from 20th November, 2023.
In a statement issued by, the ZPPA Principal Officer – Public Relations Inutu Mushambatwa, it was clarified that the suspension extends to any “successor in interest,”
Which means that the suspension encompasses entities associated with partners, directors, or officers considered as successors in interest.
“Importantly, the suspension does not impede Build at Home Investments Limited and Roofconnect Contractors and General Suppliers Zambia Limited from fulfilling outstanding contracts entered into before November 20th, 2023.”
“However, all procuring entities are urged to enforce the suspension by refraining from awarding new contracts or engaging in any form of business with the suspended companies from the specified date,” added Mushambatwa.
