This duo made music that hit home or rubbed people the wrong way. Either way, their talent in composing lyrics and singing couldn’t be ignored.
I was literally in primary school and I didn’t quite understand at the time the magnitude and significance of their work. But I’ve grown to love and respect them.
Impi comprised of Jordan Sinkala and Kendrick Kafula. The two are reported to have met in Chipata for their genesis as a musical duo. It’s also known that Matthew Tembo was their music teacher and mentor.
I wish I had the privilege to watch them perform live or just meet them. It’s beautiful that their music lives on and still sends strong messages to the society. It’s sad that they both passed on. They are truly loved and appreciated till this day.
