A mother, sister, friend and above all, a wife has been sent off today, leaving about 1, 000 people that filled Praise Christian Centre to its capacity broken and grieving.
Jubilee Mwamba Ngosa, 45, had her life cut short on April 3, 2023 after she succumbed to injuries following a road accident, two weeks ago.
Jubilee and her four children were hit by a speeding car as they were driving into their yard, killing their four year old child Schulel, who died on the spot.
Her death was announced by her husband Bojongo (BJ) Ngosa who posted on his Facebook page saying, “my wife Jubilee has left us”.
“This is by far the hardest thing that I have to do. Aunty Lwanga was our mother and she loved us so much. She was very protective to us and one of the most kind people I knew”.
“She was emotionally intelligent and whenever she recommended something, we trusted her, we will surely miss her, when we see her children and her husband, a piece of her will always live with us,” said Jubilee’s niece Kalenga Mutumwa.
The atmosphere in the church changed after the emotional speech as Kalenga wept in memory of her aunt, but it later changed as moisture joined the congregation sponsored by the touching speeches that the three children delivered that left mourners in tears.
The children have described her as a best friend that none can ever replace.
“My mum Jubilee was an excellent woman, she was so great that even in her death, she has remained great. Mummy was so strong, so strong and we are all here looking strong because she raised us this way”.
“ She taught us to live with class and grace. Loosing my mum and brother at the same time feels like I lost a part of me. I hope I’ll be able to take care of my dad and siblings like my mother did, because even a grown up man like dad she took care of him, mummy I love you and I’ll continue living with class and grace, and daddy, we love you, and we are no longer upset with the world because we have accepted this tragedy,” said Shamine Princess Ngosa, the eldest child.
Jubilee and BJ Ngosa had four children together during their 22 years of marriage.
And her husband gave a very moving speech for his wife, encouraging everyone present to hold on faith as he used the opportunity to sing and thank the Lord after he joined the podium and led the praise team.
“To Jubilee’s family, thank you for giving me an opportunity to take care of her and teaching me how to do so. I hope you don’t forget me and still consider me as your noisiest brother and son in law, I love you all. I just pray to God that may I be the last sacrifice to have lost a son and a wife in an accident. May you all never feel what I have felt”.
“My wife, my wife jubilee my one and only tomato sauce. May the Lord almighty that gave me you protect you. I love you now just like I loved you in life and I love you even more in death. Farewell my love, farewell my wife, farewell, I love you,” said BJ Ngosa, before starting a worship song.
He taught a ‘Job’ lesson of remaining strong during a time of loss and never forsaking God even on times when you deserve to mock him.
Before death and during the time she was hospitalised, Jubilee made a recording of her last appeal in which she praised God, prayed, thanked him and encouraged everyone she knew and women to remain steadfast in the Lord.
“Let your name be lifted up. You are God, without you, we can be nothing. You are the only one who makes a way, You are the restorer of peace. May You take Your final place right now”.
“Your life is displayed by what you see and do. The Bible encourages us to be women of substances therefore, wisdom should be part of us and let your spirit be seasoned that when people hear you they hear life. May you bring glory to the name of God in all you do. May God help us to put our houses in order,” Jubilee said in her final appeal audio on her hospital bed.
Jubilee has been interred at Lusaka’s Memorial Park today.
