It is reported that Brooklyn Mtonga, a clinical officer at Munyama clinic in Siavonga drowned on Lake Kariba.
Munyama ward councilor Special Mulaziki confirmed the incident to NewsDay stating Mtonga drowned around 18:00 hours when a canoe he was traveling in from playing football capsized.
“They were two in a canoe, the other one managed to swim to safety,” Mulaziki said.
“They were coming from a neighboring village where they went to play football.”
Mtonga’s body has since been retrieved.
