FORMER first secretary for press at the Zambian mission in New York Wallen Simwaka now faces arrest for failing to feed a child he fathered outside wedlock with Mutumwa Inambao.
Simwaka had initially denied responsibility of the child until a DNA test proved he was the father.
The Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has issued a warrant of arrest against Simwaka for contempt of court.
On June 17, 2022, the former diplomat was compelled to maintain his child at K2, 000 every month but he disregarded the court order by not paying a dime to the mother of his child.
Simwaka, also formerly a journalist of the Zambia Daily Mail and Daily Nation newspapers has been elusive since he was ordered to be offering child support to his offspring, thereby prompting the court to direct the police in Lusaka to have him arrested by March 22, 2023.
