ZAMBIA National Service (ZNS) has been engaged by the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) to drain water from some flooded houses in Lusaka’s Kamwala South area.
Â
This follows a heavy downpour experienced in the recent weeks that has affected Lusaka City.
Â
Through ZNS, DMMU is working on constructing temporal drainages and canals to enhance the flow of the rising water levels in the affected areas.
Â
ZNS land development branch moved on site last week and commenced works to pump out water from houses that have been submerged, and from open drainages.
Â
While an amicable solution is been sought to drain water from Kamwala South Health Post, ZNS has so far drained water from some flooded houses.
