MINISTER of Small and Medium Enterprise Development Elias Mubanga yesterday officially opened the Mansa industrial yard for business.

The industrial yard can now be occupied by business houses.

Speaking during the commissioning, Mubanga said the construction of the Mansa industrial yard is part of the government’s effort to actualise the strategy to promote economic diversification, industrialisation and creation of more jobs.

The minister said so far, eight industrial yards had been built in eight provinces and that more such yards will soon be constructed in the remaining provinces.

Mubanga thanked the African Development Bank (AfDB) for its financial support towards the construction of the industrial yards.
Mubanga’s commissioning of the Mansa industrial yard is the second, after he commissioned the Mongu industrial yard in September last year.

Yesterday in Mansa, Mubanga was accompanied by his Ministry’s permanent secretary Yvonne Mpundu, Citizens Economic and Empowerment Commission (CEEC) director general Dr Muwe Mungule, CEEC Board chairperson Jason Kazilimani, among others.
