A Lusaka motorist of Water Falls Mall area has learnt the bitter lesson that leaving your car keys with boys at the car wash, cleaning your motor vehicle may not be the wisest decision, at least security wise.
This is after a yet-to-be-named male worker at car wash near Water Falls Mall, yesterday 3 January, 2023, abandoned his mutton cloth, bucket and can of dashboard spray to embark on another career as a car thief.
The war washer-turned car thief skidded into thin air with a Toyota Noah registration number BBA 6693 which a client, Mwelwa Mukosha, had left to be washed.
According to well-placed sources in the police, Mukosha aged 40, left his vehicle for washing at a car wash located at Waterfall Mall where he found three people believed to be employees in whose custody the vehicle was left.
He later walked back to his working place Within Waterfalls Mall with a view of collecting the vehicle after knocking off.
However to his surprise, Mukosha after knocking off from work did not find the vehicle at the cash wash as arranged.
Upon inquiry, he was told that one of the car wash workers had driven the vehicle to unknown destination shortly after the owner left it.
Zambia Police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale confirmed the incident and told Kalemba that investigations are still ongoing.
Mwale stated that the police are looking for the suspect
