IN a bid to exercise free speech a 32 year old man of Lusaka’s N’gombe area has found himself in hot soup with the law after stating that Lozis, Kaondes and Tongas have taken advantage of Government institutions making it a farm depriving other tribes.

Allan Phiri has been arrested and charged with the offence of expressing or showing hatred, ridicule or contempt for persons because of their race, tribe, and place of origin or colour contrary to the laws of Zambia.

According to Police, the Phiri’s statement was allegedly made on date unknown but within the month of December 2022.

It reported that the suspect did publish without lawful excuse recorded voice notes alleging that Lozis, Kaondes and Tongas have taken advantage of government institutions as a farm depriving other tribes.

“The suspect is currently detained in Police custody awaiting court appearance,” Zambia Police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale stated.
