GOSPEL Trick Shot Ministries yesterday enhanced the Christmas commemoration for children at God at Work Orphanage with a pizza party.

GTS, which recently invested US$14,000 to support the orphanage that is home to 62 children aged between 4-5, was started on January 20, 1996.

Country representative and spokesperson Kirby Kaoma Musonda revealed that GTS Ministries has adopted the orphanage and immediatelly installed a fully functional borehole for fresh clean water for the children.

GTS also purchased mattresses and built new bunk beds for the children as a Christmas present in conjunction with BSI Steel and Foam King.

GTS founder and president Steve Lillis and his colleague Wayne Parker thanked the two companies for supporting the orphanage.

“The kids will enjoy some great pizza for Christmas today…Special thanks to Andrew from BSI Steel for assisting GTS with supplying the steel for the 20, bunkbeds and transport of the new mattresses to the Orphanage and thanks to Foam King for the great pricing for the 40 mattresses. On behalf of GTS, we wish the kids and staff of the orphanage a Merry Christmas and a blessed new year,” Parker said.

A GTS show is the creative use of amazing billiard/pool trick shots called Gospel Trick Shots.

It was first designed to entertain and encourage young people at local churches.

In 1996, GTS began to minister at colleges working with campus ministries and in 2000, GTS started working in the billiard industry at both pro and amateur events.

The following year, GTS went international working with billiard federations and international mission teams.

Meanwhile, Musonda said the ministry continues to work in all venues having pool tables and those that do not have a pool table as GTS now has a portable pool table.

He said the goal of the ministry is to encourage people to consider the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

“In October 2022 Zambia National Pool Team travelled to Morocco to participate in the world pool championship where the men emerged runners-up and the women took the third position. During the event, GTS took time to minister to people at the tournament and a lot of souls were won. After the tournament, Wayne Parker travelled to Zambia and saw some need at the orphanage,” said Musonda.

He said GTS has lined up a number of projects for next year and will support the God at Work Kids Orphanage with a water supply business which will start supplying the local community with filtered bottled water to support the institution financially.
