A 41 year old man of Shibuyunji district in Central Province has died after falling off a mango tree he climbed to pluck some mangoes.
Â
With the abundance of mangoes in his yard, Solomon Kalinga of Mulimba village decided to utilise his time before lunch time to pluck some mangoes at 11:00 hours yesterday.
Â
However, as Kalinga climbed the Mango tree he flipped and fell off to the ground.
Â
He was then rushed to Luthren Rural Health Centre for treatment where he was later referred to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) but as transport was being organised at the health centre, he passed away.
Â
Zambia Police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale confirmed the incident.
Â
Mwale told Kalemba that the police inspected the deceased’s body which was later deposited at Nampundwe clinic mortuary awaiting post-mortem and burial.
