LUANGWA Town Council Secretary Stephen Malenga says K487,000 of the Constituency Development Fund has so far been disbursed to cooperatives in the district.
In an interview, Malenga said he was happy with the way the council was managing the CDF.
“In terms of CDF, we are managing it well and so far the skills and bursaries have been disbursed, including the cooperatives. The first consignment we disbursed was for bursaries and skills and the big part has just been recently approved and we have since disbursed that amount to the beneficiaries. A total of K487,000 has been disbursed to the cooperatives and K190,000 was also towards the bursaries…so far we are moving very well in terms of CDF project implementation,” said Malenga.
“We are still waiting for community projects we have recently been approved by the ministry and we are doing the procurement process and very soon we will conclude and will start implementing.”
