THE Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested a Zambia Air Force (ZAF) officer who has built six mansions around Lusaka with questionable funds.

Five of the six houses are registered in Class 1 officer Likezo Siyunda’s wife while one is in his name.

His wife, Nandina Lyatamani has also been arrested by the anti graft body.

It is reported that Siyunda aged 54 on dates between January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021, possessed six residential houses which were concealed and registered in his wife’s name, while one house under his name.

Two of the properties are located in New Kasama costing lamp sum of K3 million, a block of two flats in Mutendere-East worth about K1,200.000.00, a house in Chalala area valued at K500,000 a house in Lilayi worth about K670,000, a house in Mutendere-East worth about K600,000.00 and another house in Ibex worth about K1,550,000.00.

In a statement released by ACC public relations officer Timothy Moono revealed that According to investigations, Siyunda engaged a construction company to construct some of the houses for him while other houses were bought with cash at a total cost ofK7,720,000.00

Moono revealed that Siyunda, a New Kasama resident and his wife Lyatamani, 44, was arrested and charged with seven counts of possession and concealment of property reasonably suspected of being proceeds of crime contrary to Section 71 of the Forfeiture of Proceeds of Crime Act No. 19 of 2010 of the Laws of Zambia.

He said the duo has since been released on bond waiting to be taken to court soon.
