WORRY and anxiety has replaced the joy of some recruited health workers because they are unable to collect their appointment letters due to the absence of ther names in the Ministry of Health Database.
Last month, government published in the newspapers names of 11, 276 health workers in a record mass employment venture.
The successful candidates were to get fingerprint clearing from The Zambia Police Service before picking their appointment letters.
But much to the shock of some, after completing the formalities some recruited workers are unable to collect their appointment letters because they are not in the Ministry of Health Database.
Confusion actually erupted at the Ministry of Health this morning as those who’s names were released among the newly recruited health workers in the newspaper but not in the database stormed the place.
Some even went further to come with Newspaper containing the recruitment names as evidence to prove to the ministry that they were selected as health workers.
It is reported that the victims victims were told by the ministry to go there today but only six applicants managed to get their appointment letters, with majority told to reapply and submit their applications next week Tuesday.
One of the applicant who is a registered, Humphrey Mweenda said his name was amongst the list of candidates who were picked by Government in the newspaper.
But to his shock, he was name did not appear in the database of recruited health workers like many of his colleagues.
The Ministry of Health is yet to comment on the glitch.
