ZAMBIA Police say they will deal individually with anyone who will conduct an illegal procession to escort former first lady Esther Lungu to the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) where she has been summoned to explain how she built a block 15 flats.

The former first lady is due to appear tomorrow morning but PF officials have using their internet bundles to appeal for cadres through amateur Facebook videos to turn up in numbers in solidarity.

But Inspector General of Police Lemmy Kajoba has issued a stern warning to anyone planning on turning up uninvited saying that would amount to an illegal assembly.

The Police boss said people who want to escort the former first lady will be doing a disservice to her because they will be commiting an offence.

According to a statement realesed today, Kajoba said It is a normal practice for law enforcement agencies when making an inquiry to call someone for an interview.

Hence, he cautioned the people who may want to involve themselves in this act to desist.

“We are aware of the recordings were well known people are challenging, wanting to beat the police and planning to cause mayhem by bringing students from the Copperbelt.”

“Youths are therefore advised not to be used as tools to disrupt peace,” Kajoba added.

Kajoba reiterated that the police shall not allow any person to break the law with impunity instead the shall deal with the perpetrators individually.

“We have mobilised enough manpower to deal with those wanting to break the law with impunity,” he said.

The inspector general further disclosed that they have deployed enough officers on the route from Copperbelt to Lusaka or any other to ensure that no bus or vehicle is carrying suspected protesters.

He added if perpetrators of this nature are found their vehicles will be impounded and the occupants detained.
