Hundreds of new health workers recently recruited to bolster Zambia’s healthcare system have begun receiving their appointment letters.

The 314 individuals are the first wave of 853 former Cholera Center Volunteers being integrated into the Civil Service, following a Presidential directive last month.

This initial phase focuses on strengthening critical medical positions. The new recruits include:
95 Junior Resident Medical Officers
100 Registered Nurses
28 Clinical Officers
46 Environmental Health Technicians
15 Medical Laboratory Technicians
6 Pharmacy Technologists
19 Public Health Nurses
4 Bio-Medical Scientists
1 Pharmacist

This influx of new medical professionals comes as a welcome relief as Zambia grapples with ongoing health concerns.

The addition of these trained personnel is expected to significantly improve access to healthcare services across the country.
