RESIDENT Doctors Association of Zambia president Dr Brian Sampa has been allowed to grab his stethoscope and head back to the hospital ward by the Lusaka High Court.
Dr Sampa lost his medical practicing licence after it was suspended by the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) following his leading of a work boycott over unpaid dues, lack of promotions and non-employment of doctors which drew the rage of the government keen on re-election.
However, the court has thrown out HPCZ’s action saying Dr Sampa should continue working until the full matter is heard by the court.
However, the medical battle captain’s troubles may not be fully over as he has another issue of being dismissed from his employment by the ministry of health after he stayed in Lusaka fighting for his colleagues cause instead of going to the bush in Zambezi District where he had been shunted to keep him away from the media.
