PATRIOTIC FRONT Kasama Central member of parliament Kelvin Sampa has announced his admission to the Levy Mwanawasa COVID-19 Isolation Center after testing positive of the coronavirus.
In a statement, Sampa who is also PF national youth chairperson explained that he tested positive after experiencing general feeling of discomfort, unease and illness whose exact cause was difficult to identify.
“So, I underwent a COVID-19 test whose result yesterday confirmed my positive COVID-19 status,” Sampa stated.
“Per procedure, I have since been admitted to Levy Mwanawasa COVID-19 isolation center though I am stable. Ministry of Health guidelines will apply to identify at risk persons that could have been exposed as well,” he added.
“Allow me to use my experience to re-emphasize the need to adhere to COVID-19 prevention guidelines by always: Observing physical distance, masking up, washing hands with soap and using alcohol-based sanitizers.”
In July, two members of parliament namely Rodgers Mwewa of Mwansabombwe Constituency and Mwenya Munkonge of Lukashya Constituency died of COVID-19 forcing parliament to stop sitting.
