Government declares Lusaka COVID-19 epicenter

THE GOVERNMENT has declared Lusaka as the country’s epicenter for the imported Coronavirus.

In today’s daily update of the COVID-19 situation in the country, Health minister Dr Chitalu Chilufya announced it one more confirmed case bringing the total of number od patients to 36.

Dr Chilufya said Lusaka was the epicenter of the virus and advised those outside the capital city to stay away and those within not to travel out.

The health minister has also recommended the use of masks as a means of protection against the Coronavirus.

He said Chaisa, Emmasdale, Eureka, Ibex Hill and Jack Compound were areas of interest where testing would be concentrated.

Dr Chilufya said the health officials would scale up testing which was likely to yield more confirmed cases for Zambia.
