Avoid public transport, Miles advises Lusaka residents

LUSAKA Mayor Miles Sampa has advised Lusaka residents to avoid public transportation and instead find other alternatives in the wake of Coronavirus fears.

Zambia has so far recorded 39 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with one death.

Around the world, the Coronavirus has infected close a million people and killed more than 50,000.

In an interview with Phoenix News, Sampa said the public must consider the use of bicycles and if possible walk to their destinations.

Sampa also urged the public not to frustrate bus drivers and businesses that are placing hand wash facilities at the entrance of their businesses by refusing to use them.

He said people must adhere to the mandatory hand washing so as to eliminate the spread of the corona virus which has claimed many lives globally.
