Matomola Likwanya, the vocal UPND information publicity secretary for Lusaka, has vehemently denied claims of attacking Namzy Mercy Silumesi, a PF and Tonse Alliance Tiktoker, during the Kawambwa Parliamentary Constituency by-election campaigns.
Likwanya says he is not a violent person and has never practiced politics of violence.
“First of all, I am young politician who does not believe in violence, I am not a violent person and I have never practiced politics of violence,” Likwanya said.
“I’m extremely surprised that Mercy has been making videos accusing me of attacking her in Kawambwa and posting on social media” Likwanya added.
He stressed that Silumesi’s allegations are an attempt to tarnish his reputation.
Likwanya has since reported the matter to the police for criminal defamation, seeking to clear his name and challenge Silumesi to prove her accusations.
“Her false accusations have the capacity to dent my image and affect my political career, that’s why I have reported the matter to police for criminal defamation. I want to present her with an opportunity to prove her accusations against me,” said Likwanya.
