AS Bread of Life Church general overseer Bishop Joseph Imakando stepped into his 70th year on September 20, gospel artistes within the Church failed to heed to the temptation of not celebrating his life and impact as they unleashed melodies to appreciate him.

Kcul The Rapper, Deborah Mambo and Gabby GP combined their creative minds to honour their father in the Lord ahead of his celebration which happened on November 3, 2024 at Mulungushi International Conference Centre.

Deborah said people usually celebrate others when they are dead, but there is a need to appreciate them when they are alive so that they can feel it.

“I love celebrating people while they are still alive rather than wait till they die before I write a song for them because they will never listen to it,” Deborah shared as one of the inspiration for creating the song.

She added that Bishop Imakando has impacted her life and that of her her husband, starting when he endorsed her ministry from the time she joined bread of Life in 2015, as well as spiritual guidance.

“Learning from him, looking at his life, it has been a life worth emulating…He has been a daddy, I go to his office and he blesses me before I can venture into a project or something I would like to do. That to me means a lot,” she said.

“I appreciate him and celebrate him, and I thank God for the blessing he has been in my life, not just my life but my husband’s as well.”

And Gabby GP (Gabriel Phiri) shared: “Bishop’s life has impacted my life immensely because he presents himself as a very humble man yet full of wisdom and anointing; he exudes the very life of God. When you look at the achievements in his ministry and the kind of people he has raised, then you know that he’s an extraordinary man with a very unique grace upon his life.”

And Kcul the Rapper (Ndemena Malisawa) said the Bishop’s ministry had taught him that the centre of his focus should be Jesus.

“That through Him (Jesus) I have all I need. That following Jesus is the epitome of life, worth more than silver and gold and all the earthly riches combined.”

“His weekly teachings helped me understand the love, mercy and kindness of God towards me. Then gradually i started to realign my plans and focus. In 2019 we started to put out music and it was all for Jesus,” said Kcul The Rapper.
