AT only the age of 14, Copperbelt teenager, Kenan Kaunda has written his own history by becoming one of Zambia’s youngest artiste to ever release an album.
This was after Kaunda, whose stage name is Super Kena Abatalali released a 15 track album three days ago.
The young rapper’s career culminated from his love for ‘Kopala’ music and dances two years ago.
His charming personality and baby-like dance moves gave him an online fan base that enjoyed both his ‘Chimwemwe’ dance and mimicking of rapper, Y-Celeb’s songs.
He then caught Y-Celeb’s attention who later adopted him into his music label, ‘World Wide Music’ where the young artiste recorded some songs with the rapper, in which he was featured in.
Last month, the teenager released his own song and video, titled, ‘Immortality Freestyle.’
He then released his ‘Man of the Match’ album four days ago, which came with a music video for the first track, ‘True story’ – an emotional song of the rapper’s real life that left the country in a somber mood.
While everyone is still stuck in a connection of emotions with the rapper’s song, five of his tracks in his album are already topping as the most searched songs on Boom play in the country currently.
The 15 track album has songs with a different touch, depending on one’s mood and emotional appeal but what makes it even better is that even elders can listen to it.
For those who love to dance and the club DJ, this writer will recommend track 14, 10 and eight which has a touch of akalindula in it.
And if you are a dedicated Christian, ‘Abatalali’ still has you covered ! The second track, ‘Uluse lwenu’ is a worship and gratitude song in which he featured gospel artiste, Vuci 4Tune.
As a grade five pupil, track four is also another song that the artiste wrote to encourage his fellow children on the importance of education.
The teenager has also featured Zambia’s sensational rapper, Chef 187, Y-Celeb and Xaven among other artistes in the album.
The country’s latest album is currently seating at over 800,000 streams on music app since its release while his video had half a million views on YouTube in three days.
