Kelvin Sampa faces seven year jail term in theft case

FORMER Kasama member of parliament, Kelvin Sampa is likely to face seven years imprisonment if found guilty in a case he is charged with theft by agent.

This morning, senior resident at the Lusaka Magistrates Trevor Kasanda is expected to deliver judgement in the matter Sampa is accused of obtaining K1.4 million from a businessman, using false pretenses.

This is in connection with 2022 arrest allegations where Sampa reportedly obtained money from a businessman running Mbaruku Trading Limited on pretext that he was going to help him release his goods which were impounded by Zambia Revenue Authority.

Punishment for theft by agent goes up to seven years imprisonment with hard labour.
