A 47 year old man of Lusaka who was arrested for defiling his 10 year old daughter and allegedly infected her with HIV has denied the charge.
SP, who always appeared smart in court wearing suits like a papa yesterday appeared at the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court and denied defiling his daughter after the State informed the court that consent from the Director of Public Prosecution(DPP) to prosecute the matter was now ready.
It is alleged that between January and March 2025, SP had unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl who is known to be his biological daughter.
“I understand the charge and I deny,” SP said.
Allegations in the matter states that after SP was arrested for defilement, three women married to him had made an attempt to bribe police officers so they could release their alleged defiler husband but they were arrested.
The Magistrates Court adjourned the matter to July 9, 2025 for mention and setting of trial dates.
