FACEBOOK ‘insulting champion’ Elias Musyani is set to dance the music of his delinquent cyber activities after court denied him the easiest way out of his self-induced legal troubles of harassing socialite Kidist Kifle who is the wife of self proclaimed Zambia’s biggest musician Yo-maps.

Musyani applied for a plea deal with the State in a matter where he is facing two counts of Harrasment using electronic means.

The accused was initially charged with one count but the State slapped him with another charge yesterday which he pleaded not guilty to.

Musyani’s troubles began when he attempted to impart unsolicited good morals on the queen of the Olios Kingdom on his Facebook page, when he questioned the singer if he had an open marriage with the wife; as he expressed revulsion against Kifle alleging that she was a loose woman, for allowing her male besties to touch her thighs and administer intoxicating substances to her in the absence of her husband.

The post is alleged to have been made on April 8, 2024 after a video which depicted Kifle having a good time with her male and female friends at a nightclub, was circulated on social media.

Musyani on April 20, 2024 further made postings on his page alleging that Kifle was an evil woman possessed with marine spirits and further made rape threats against her and also threatened to abduct her daughter who is a toddler.

Appearing before magistrate Mutinta Mwenya, Musyani could not stand by his words despite having pleaded not guilty.

Timid and spineless, Musyani proposed to enter into a plea bargain with the State in line with Act 20 of 2010, of the plea negotiations and agreement Act, section 4 and 5 so that he could plead guilty to a lesser charge.

His application was met with opposition by State prosecutor Malama Chisenga who indicated that there was no room for a bargain, as there is no lesser option for the offenses he was charged with.

Magistrate Mwenya dismissed the application and ordered that the matter proceeds to trial.

Reagan Tembo a cyber security officer at ZICTA said he established that the postings were linked to Musyani’s facebook page though there were two similar pages with his picture, one in which he wore dark shades and another where he did not wear any.

He said the URL provided to him by the police proved that Musyani was behind the postings.

Trial continues on December 6.

After the session Kifle and Yo Maps walked hand in hand down the court corridors whilst crowded by fans.

Some fans who attempted to get selfies with the singer’s wife only got a dim view from Kifle, as she snubbed them.
