JAILED corruption convict, Henry Kapoko’s baby mama has embarked on a legal battle to compel the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to give her back her properties that were grabbed from her on suspicion that they were gifted to her by her convicted baby daddy.
In the matter before the Constitutional Court of Zambia, Rido Chitengu has said that on the basis that she had a sexual relationship and a child with jailed Kapoko, the ACC grabbed various possessions from her upon the conviction of her baby daddy and wants the court to declare the 2009 seizure as illegal.
Among the ‘stuff’ that ACC grabbed are Flat 27 in Villa Elizabeth, Lusaka, Government of the Republic of Zambia Bonds valued at K368,324.65 on account no. 0599502000216 and K24,000 on account no. 0211201001817. Others 2,000 Airtel Zambia Plc Shares valued at K48,000 as at June 6 ,2014 and 375,000 Zanaco Plc shares valued at K112,500 as at June 6, 2014. K99,972.53 at Standard Chartered Lusaka Main Branch.
She also said that ACC, upon searching her house, ACC officers also got US$2,300.00 2,000 South African rands notes and K20,000, ZMW17,250, K4,251.55 and K1,000 enveloped at the time.
Meanwhile, Rido and Kapoko, apart from being lovers, were workmates at Ministry of Health where Rido served as Principal Planner and Kapoko as a junior HR officer.
