A 46-year old cattle herdsman, commonly known as Kachema, has been slapped with a five-year sentence for stealing a cow valued at K3,000.
Lackson Lupiya of Shamilimo Village in Lusaka West, upon pleading guilty to the theft of the cow, blamed the devil for tempting his soul to sell his boss’ cow at a mere K2,800; K200 short of the true value.
However, for his unfaithful stewardship, the Lusaka Magistrates ‘Court determined that he be kept away from cattle for a decade until he is 51-years old and too old to direct cows in the wrong direction.
