…Making Your Life Count with Dr. Humphrey Mutiti
THERE cannot be success without work. Human beings are made for action.
Work is more customary for us because God Himself established a pattern when He was creating the world. The Book of Genesis in the Bible says, “He worked for six days and rested on the seventh day.”
Thus, it’s impossible to fulfil your destiny on theory. None of the ingredients to success will work unless you work towards them. To me, success simply means taking good ideas, plans, desires and putting them into action.
Naming and claiming has not made anyone into somebody, it is work that has produced entrepreneurs, the business tycoons and all the successful people we have applauded.
What our country needs is less intensity on prayers, naming and claiming to
more intensity on WORK. This does not mean I am discrediting prayer, I am a
firm believer of prayer, my lifestyle is wrapped in prayer, (those who know me
will attest to this), I have written books on prayer and taught on prayer but I
believe the simple answer to all our prayers is – Go to WORK. Listen to
Shakespeare: “Nothing can come of nothing.” Beloved, Zero times any number equals
Zero. A confession is useless unless converted into action.
David Bly once said, “Striving for success without hard work is like trying to
harvest where you have not planted.” Your convictions do not amount to anything
until you climb out of the gallery.
Do not be a success in lazing around. Wake up and do something. Write that book. Start that business and ministry. Farther your studies. Do something with your life and stop blaming those who have not helped you.
Come on, take responsibility. You cannot just dream yourself into what you could be, you will need to work into it. Strive into it. Work into it.
As for those of us who are lazy, I suggest we work thrice. God does not make
apple juice, He makes apples. We are the ones that must work to squeeze apples
to make apple juice. We must turn the raw materials into finished goods.
God will always give us cows and not milk, mangoes and not mango juice, oranges and not orange juice, trees and not plain papers or books, trees and not toothpicks.
Someone once said, “The world is divided into people who do things and people
who talk about doing things. Belong to the first group – there is far less
competition.”
Truth be told, most of our troubles in our lives are because we chose to be loafing when we should have been working. We chose to be talking when you should have been working.
As I land this air craft home, I believe the Lord didn’t burden us with work,
He blessed us with it. Wishing, and naming it has never made the poor man
wealthy. Inspirations never go for long engagements; they require immediate
marriage to action.
Robert Half nails it this way, “Laziness is a secret ingredient that goes into failure, but its only kept a secret from the person who fails.” Laziness is boring. Laziness is more deadly than COVID19. Laziness is not a mark of righteousness. Laziness is synonymous to stupidity. Laziness cannot and must not be justified in anyway by anyone.
