A 25-year-old Zambian youth has gained global recognition at COP28 in Dubai, representing the Finance and Markets working group for YOUNGO, leaving a lasting impact.
YOUNGO is the official children and youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention for Climate Change.
Patricia Longwani spoke alongside world leaders at the World Climate Action Summit on last Saturday, delivering a powerful simulation of the global youth statement that earned her applause.
Longwani’s historic moment not only puts Zambia on the global stage but also saved as an inspiration for young people worldwide to engage meaningfully in discussions on climate action and beyond.
Her achievements extend beyond COP, including representing youths at the world forum for democracy where she gained international recognition for her views on democracy and women’s rights.
Additionally, Longwani received an invitation to the Youth Climate Congress by the Federal Youth Authority.
