BARELY two weeks after a mere purchase of beer for her baby brothers whom she just wanted to surprise with a bottle of Johnnie Walker has led to a life changing opportunity for 29 year old Vashti Mulenga.
Proof that sometimes, kindness to family doesn’t just fill hearts, it also fills parking lots.
What started as a casual beer run has ended with Mulenga driving off in a ‘brand new’ Toyota Mark X, worth a staggering K160,000, courtesy of Johnnie Walker.
Upon purchasing the bottle of whiskey, she stumbled upon the Win a Car box where she was required to enter her details.

According to the winner, winning the car was not even part of the plan but just wanted to try for the sake of trying.
The Johnnie Walker red bottle was bought a week ago on October 4 and in less than a week, the winner received a phone call from the whiskey company that she had won a car which she couldn’t believe.
“I didn’t expect that I was going to win, I just had a little bit of hope. This will help me when it comes to transport especially when going for work. I used to go for work with buses and Yango,” she narrated.
“I didn’t believe when I received the call that I had won a car, I thought it was one of those scammers until I just gave it a benefit of doubt and decided to show up and yeah here we are.”
Presenting the first car gift of the promotion which runs until December this year, Johnnie Walker Country Manager Lilami Lilami noted that the car is a way of giving back to customers who have been loyal for the past 200 years.
“This is the first car we are giving away, and it’s just our way of showing appreciation to our customers. All it takes is a bottle of Johnnie Walker, and the more you buy, the greater your chances of winning. Our promotion runs until December and we started in August this year. All you have to do is buy a bottle of Johnie Walker and write your name, NRC and phone number on your receipt and drop it in the win a car box,” he shared.
The promotion is running at every ShopRite outlet and Johnnie Walker has two more cars to give away.
