President Hakainde Hichilema has landed in Germany for a significant diplomatic engagement, marking his presence at the G20 Compact with Africa and a business summit in the capital city, Berlin.

This visit comes at the invitation of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, highlighting the growing importance of bilateral relations between Zambia and Germany.

The President’s arrival was met with a warm welcome, underlining the amicable ties between the two nations.

President Hichilema agenda for the visit includes participation in the G20 Compact with Africa, a forum aimed at promoting private investment in Africa, fostering sustainable development, and strengthening economic ties between African nations and G20 members.

President Hichilema is also set to engage in a business summit, showcasing Zambia’s economic potential and seeking partnerships with German businesses.

In addition to his engagements in Germany, President Hichilema is poised to reciprocate the diplomatic gesture with a State Visit to Italy.

This comes following an invitation from Italian President Sergio Mattarella, further underscoring Zambia’s efforts to strengthen international relations.

President Hichilema sees these diplomatic steps as catalysts for enhancing economic and business ties, foreseeing increased opportunities for trade and investment in Zambia. .
