BARELY a week from the day the the Zambian football family lost veteran football administrator Hanif Adams, tragedy has struck again, this time, the rallying community.
Vetran rally driver, Azim Tiklay, affectionately known to many sports enthusiasts as Sekulu has died.
The 64-year-old rally legend succumbed to his mortality at the Maina Soko Military Hospital in Lusaka this afternoon, leaving behind a trail of sorrow and fond memories.
Farook, his son and a renowned Zambian rally driver, confirmed the news to Kalemba, struggling to hold back emotions. “It’s incredibly difficult to pinpoint a single cherished memory of him right now, as there are countless ones. He embodied love, compassion, and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on every life he touched.”
As the rallying community mourns the loss of a true icon, funeral arrangements are underway, with a gathering scheduled to take place at his residence in Makeni. The exact timing is yet to be confirmed, but it’s expected to be later this evening.
