ZAMBIA’s football scene witnessed a series of draws, as FC MUZA, Power Dynamos, and Green Buffaloes Women all shared the spoils in their respective matches on Wednesday.
Following their tight schedules representing the country in the CAF Champions League, Dynamos and MUZA had their first matches of the 2023/24 yesterday.
However, both teams were unable to secure victories, as they were held to draws in their opening encounters.
Defending champions Power Dynamos faced off against Prison Leopards FC and battled hard but ultimately played out a goalless draw.
Meanwhile, FC MUZA demonstrated their resilience by coming from behind to level the score against Zanaco, ending the match 1-1.
Andrew Phiri’s penalty in the 62nd minute brought parity for FC MUZA after Chawanangwa Kaonga’s 40th-minute strike for Zanaco.
Shifting the spotlight to the women’s side, Green Buffaloes Women’s Club found themselves in a tight spot against Double Action Ladies in the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions/COSAFA Qualifiers.
With an early lead taken by Double Action Ladies through Lesego Radiakanyo in the 1st minute, it was Xiomara Mapepa’s 50th-minute effort that came to the rescue for Green Buffaloes, enabling them to secure a 1-1 draw.
As the excitement continues to unfold, fans can anticipate more thrilling action in the upcoming matches.
Green Buffaloes Women’s Club is set to face Ntopwa FC of Malawi on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 15:30.
On the same day, Double Action Ladies will take on Lesotho Defense Force in a lunchtime kickoff, promising another round of intense clashes on the field.
