Struggling Kitwe giants, Nkana Football Club have sent their coach packing after loosing two of their opening games in the 2023/24 Super League.

In a statement issued by the teams media and public relations officer Lilian Musenge, it was disclosed that Beston Chambeshi had been sent on administrative leave while his assistant George Chilufya will be taking over as interim head coach.

Two consecutive defeats were enough to change the technical team and send the coach packing in order to salvage what is left to retrieve the 13 times league champions’ former glory.

Further reshuffling includes John Lungu as first assistant and Fidelis Chungu moving from Young Nkana head coach to second assistant for the main team.

Whilst Gift Kampamba returns to lead Young Nkana.

The decisions follow two consecutive losses where the team failed to register a goal in both matches.

In the previous match, newly promoted Mutondo Stars gave them experienced a run for their money beating them 1-0 while, Red Arrows also defeated them by the same scoreline.

Nkana’s restructured coaching staff aims to revive their competitive standing and overcome their early season struggles.
