ZAMBIA’s women’s football sensation Hazel Nali has undergone a successful knee surgery in Christchurch, New Zealand, marking a significant milestone in her career.
The surgery, performed yesterday, was met with relief and joy from her fans and supporters both in Zambia and around the world.
Nali sustained a left knee injury in the period preceding the July 7 international friendly match with Germany in Furth in preparation for the FIFA Women’s World Cup co hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
This blow prevented her from featuring in the tournament which saw Zambia eliminated in the group stage with three points.
Expressing her gratitude for the successful surgery on Facebook, Nali extended her heartfelt appreciation to various entities that played a crucial role in ensuring the success of her surgery including the Zambian government, Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) and Zambians In Aotearoa Association Inc.
Nali also expressed gratitude to Dr. Elias Munshya, the High Commissioner of Zambia to Australia and New Zealand.
The football star took a moment to address her fellow Zambians, expressing her gratitude for their special prayers, encouraging messages, and unwavering love during this challenging period of her football career.
Nali admitted that the journey had been a tough one, marked by mixed emotions, and thanked her compatriots for their incredible support.
