CITIZENS First (CF) leader Harry Kalaba has shared that once he is elected as president of Zambia, hoes (nkasu) and axes (utusembe) will be banned from the Zambian market and be taken to the national museum.

In his party manifesto which was launched yesterday, Kalaba said he was tired of seeing Zambian women participating in agricultural activities with manual instruments such as hoes and axes.

Reading a snippet of the manifesto yesterday, former Zambian ambassador to the United Nations Kasese Mwaba noted on behalf of Kalaba that the country can tap into the new way of doing things which the party is willing to implement once elected into office.

The CF leader also stated that his party acknowledges that the world was evolving, making it right to go the mechanicanised way for farming instruments.

“Moving forward we are bringing hope to Zambia. The president, Mr. Kalaba is tired of seeing the women of Zambia using akakasu (hoe) breaking their bones…using axes to tilt the land… So he’s saying…he’s taking all these manual instruments to the national museum of history because he’s out to bring in mechanised equipment,” read the manifesto.

The manifesto also stipulated that the party will be youth friendly to ensure that all the youths thrive amidst the drought.

The newly launched manifesto of 2026-2031, dubbed as the orange manifesto, talks about how Zambia shall be transformed and where the country went wrong and how it will correct the mistake.
