Hichilema among top 10 best performing African leaders


PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has been named as one of the top 5 best performing African leaders.

This according to an international online publication called Business Day.

Topping the list is Abdel Fattah El- Sisi of Egypt followed by Samia Hassan of Tanzania who comes in second.

Rwandan President Paul Kagame was ranked third best performing leader in Africa and Wavel Ramkalawan of Seychelles is on number four.

President Hichilema has took the fifth position.

Accordind to Business Day, President Hichilema was elected in 2021, taking over an economy that was struggling and a populace deeply divided.

It stated that despite the challenges, he however, attacked corruption right away and gave economic diversification top priority, embracing accountability and transparency.

President Hichilema’s performance has been described as promising, citing his emphasis on agriculture, renewable energy and luring in international investment.

Other leaders on the list are Botswana’s Mokgweetsi Masisi, Mauritius’s Prithvirajsing Roopun, Ghana’s Nana Akufo Addo and Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Closing up the list on number 10 is Adama Barrow, Gambian President.
