Emmanuel Mwamba has declared his expulsion and that of nine members of parliament from the PF as illegal insisting Miles Sampa and his appointees have no authority to expel anyone.
PF Secretary General Morgan Ng’ona has this afternoon announced the expulsion of party lawmakers including Brian Mundubile, Stephen Kampyongo, Christopher Kang’ombe and Ronald Chitotela.
Others include Remember Mutale, Mutotwe Kafwaya and Fube.
In expelling the 10, Ng’ona said they were arrogant and had exhibited gross indiscipline.
But in a statement after the expulsions, Mwamba who is a chairperson for information and publicity for the Edgar PF said via a statement that the disciplinary letters issued by N’gona to expel him and others were illegal.
Mwamba argued that Sampa’s attempt to take over the party, attempts to suspend or expel members in violation of ongoing legal proceedings in the Lusaka High Court and Lusaka Magistrate Court, undermined the sanctity of the judicial system.
Mwamba urged party members to treat the expulsion letters as forgery insisting that Sampa was suspended at the time he held an alleged illegal conference.
“The action was illegal, and therefore, all subsequent actions Sampa and his so-called Secretary General, are engaged in, remain a nullity, and must be treated so,” said Mwamba.
Mwamba extended his accusations state institutions, including the Registrar of Societies, the National Assembly, and the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC), of supporting Sampa’s activities in an attempt to legitimise him as PF President.
“We urge our members of the Party to remain unmoved by these illegal attacks against the Party and its senior leaders and therefore ignore Sampa’s letters,” added Mwamba.
