OPPOSITION preacher Dan Pule could not be released on bail yesterday as the magistrate handling his case could not hear his bail application due to time.
Pule, 70 of new Kasama is charged with seditious practices.
The cleric pleaded not guilty to the charge before principal resident magistrate Sylvia Munyinya.
It is alleged that Pule between May 16 and May 2024 accused President Hakainde Hichilema of thriving on regionalism to divide the country as exhibited in his appointments.
The words are said to promote feelings of ill will or hostility between different communities or different parts of a community.
